The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife, by Anna Johnston

Cover of The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife, by Anna Johnston.

This is an enjoyable read about the consequences of a mistaken identity – a man drowned and in a very curious turn of events another man, who looked quite like the drowned person, took his place at a nearby nursing home. The two men looked quite alike, which helped the story. Bernard has to fake all sorts of issues to be more like the drowned Fred. Crazy situations arise, but it all ends in the findings of happiness, and acceptance, in the lives of both men’s families.

A nice ‘warm’ read.
