A gripping chilling story of Ireland gradually becoming a fascist state. Eilish, the mother displays the best of maternal love as she tries to protect her family. Each of her children grow and develop in different ways as the government surveillance increases and their lives are altered after their father is jailed.
It is beautifully written, a joy to read out loud. The tension increases throughout, and the ending stays with the reader long after the book is finished.
