This book is a somewhat harrowing tale of a life spent without privilege in Aboriginal communities. Ashlee tries hard to live a satisfying life, but is always constrained by the behaviour of her man, Ronnie, and the other dysfunction around her. To her great credit, she rises above this to become a tertiary educated woman of great influence in areas of violence towards women. She showed the way!
A good honest read.
