I was Anastasia, by Ariel Lawhon.

Cover of I was Anastasia, by Ariel Lawhon.

A new version of the famous story. Did Anastasia Romanov the Russian Princess survive the slaughter of the Tzars family in 1918?

Very well written. I felt really drawn into the novel as if I might have lived at that time and the possible outcomes. The only thing that took some getting used to was the way in which the author told Anna’s story backwards. However, by the time I was finished, I hardly noticed it.

Well done Ariel!
