A partnership between Switch Your Thinking and the Western Australian Government is bringing us the Energy Efficiency Pilot Program. Through this program, Home Energy Audit kits are available at libraries across the state — including the City of Busselton Libraries!
Home Energy Audit Kits
Home Energy Audit Kits are loanable from both Busselton and Dunsborough Libraries. These kits may only be borrowed by adult members with standard (not lite) memberships. To learn more about library membership, please visit our Membership page.
The kits may be loaned for one week, and may be renewed once for a second week if there is no one else waiting for one. You can place a hold to reserve your place in the queue to access the kit. You can place a hold either by speaking to library staff, or by reserving it through our online catalogue.
The Do-It-Yourself Home Energy Audit Kits contain the following:
- A thermal imaging camera to find draughts and gaps in insulation.
- A plug-in energy monitor the identify energy consumption and the running cost of appliances.
- A basin flow measuring cup to identify the flow rate of your taps.
- A thermometer for measuring temperature.
- An instruction manual explaining how to use these items and how to conduct the audit of your home.
