The action takes place at a future time when buildings and landscape change and activities and decisions have to enable people to survive. A variety of people live in a decaying luxury high rise building in an unnamed USA-like location. Different roles are assigned, and refugees arrive and have to fit in. Human relationships evolve and there is a touch of magic! Dystopia is a theme of this and other successful writers.
