Library Staff Recommendation
Another soul wrenching story by the author of Shuggie Bain. Equally disturbing, equally sad and poignant. Mungo is 16 and growing up in a highly dysfunctional family in Glasgow. His single mother is an alcoholic, his brother a thug and his older sister basically is in charge of his care although she herself is a teenager.
Excellent read but beware it is quite dark and contains disturbing descriptions of child abuse.
