The title was almost enough to put me off but I am glad I chose it because it was an engaging story. The characters were convincing and you were drawn to the relationships that unfolded. It was an interesting insight into young people’s thinking and language.
The central character, Phoebe had an unusual reaction to people eating, which made her feel weird and unacceptable causing her to withdraw and isolate herself. Very lonely, she made attempts to find friends. The story is about how she eventually found her tribe, and the process of relationship building in that situation. Written by a young person with skill and insight.
