Local Studies Highlight
Photo of Busselton Jetty, circa 1960
Within our Local Studies Collection, there are many archived images from Busselton’s past, available to view.
This is one such image, courtesy of the Emery family, labelled ‘PH00800.’ It depicts Busselton Beach & Jetty, circa 1960, with the caption: ‘taken of the Busselton Foreshore (Beach) looking across the sand at the Busselton Jetty on an angle. Many people are enjoying the water, sitting on the sand, or standing looking over the edge of the jetty.’
As a local, growing up, these are reminiscent of the summers I remember. Time spent with family, attending swimming lessons, playing on the sand, in the water, or on play equipment nearby – just enjoying our beautiful beaches, creating lifelong memories.
This photo, and many more, can be viewed or accessed via our catalogue, visiting our flickr page, or by getting in touch.
There are many items from our Local Studies Collection, such as oral history recordings, that can be borrowed from the Busselton and Dunsborough libraries. These can be found in the Local Studies section. Items from the archives, held at Busselton Library, such as books and transcripts, can also be accessed by appointment.
